June 13, 2007LCD Keyboard
A company in Taipei just came out with the world's first wireless touchscreen keyboard. Though by the pictures it doesn't look like it's LCD, but rather some backlit piece of plastic. So you probably can't use it to change your layout, or watch porn. But it's a hell of a lot easier to use than my keyboard, which consists of a bunch of rocks lined up to look like a keyboard. When it doesn't respond you just throw the rocks at the computer after. It's really satisfying.

Hahahahah omfg roflmao - no wait I'm not done.
This is a prototype for an automated turret that can track targets and designate them by painting with a laser pointer. I've already ordered 5 and I'm going to surround my cubicle with these - tresspassers be damned!
I'm considering mounting one in every office so that whenever someone says something stupid, I pummel them with a stream of plastic BB's.

The Keyport can store your keys and provide easy access to them, instead of fumbling through a keychain. It even has an internal RFID chip so you can use it for remote entry.
A decent idea - but it's missing some key features, a flashlight and a friggen death ray laser. If they opted for just the death ray laser, I'd probably buy it.

Wired released a photo set of tv's as they have evolved from as early as 1928. It's almost as cool as the TV I invented, which was really more of a picture of David Hasselhoff taped to my watch.

China reveals the first ever nuclear powered moon rover. The lunar can transmit real-time video, analyze the soil, and produce 3D images. And just in case we run across any aliens that we deem to be a thread (i.e. moving) the rover's nuclear core can be automatically detonated sending those bastards straight into the sun.
Coming up soon - USA reveals bigger rover that uses 10 times the fuel, lasers, a tractor beam, and has spinners. Take that China.

The SnuzNLuz alarm clock connects to your bank account via built-in wifi and gives away a little bit of your money to a charity or organization everytime you hit the snooze button.
I think this is a great idea. Or a really bad one. I'm not quite sure yet, but it's unique and it'll probably motivate you to get out of bed. Or it won't.
Psst, this product was released April 1st. Dumbass.

It's amazing what people will think of this days - just imagine combining a waterfall display with a plasma TV - genius! Of course, when it leaks and explodes setting your house on fire, and your insurance company laughs at you for installing it, at least you'll be able to say you had a plasma built into a waterfall.

This product is unique and useful, in the way it operates as a standard looking mirror until you step away from it, then it displays bright ads on the LCD underneath it.
This is pretty darn cool, even if it is showing me ads. It would probably freak me out the first time I saw it, if I had one I'd totally mess with people by replacing the ads with scary faces, and automatically shutting the lights off.

Want to get your stuff back if it's stolen? DataDot's might be a solution. They imprint data on a microdot that can ble glued to the device (it's very tiny). Of course, this requires the cops to find them on the device, and of course it's only good if they recover it at all.
The only thing that would make this useable would be to integrate gps tracking, and that would just blow my mind.

Now at first I thought this was retarted, but it's always those retarded inventions that make millions because of mass usage. Just think, when was the last time you needed soap. I don't know about you, but I smell like roses and cinnamon buns when I get up every day.

More delays ahead for the Optimus keyboard - which in case you've been hiding under a stone it's a OLED keyboard (think color LCD but cheaper and smaller) that you can make your own lightup keys for - the OLED manufacturer has had some financial troubles and will not be able to deliver on the displays for the keys. This really sucks because they will have to find a new manufacturer which will add many more months to shipping dates. When I get mine, I'm going to make every key a blinking eyeball. That should keep those bastards in IT from touching my computer!
